Discontinue reading if you haven’t finished the campaign!  Which I find hard to believe by the time of this writing.

This is a re-re-post from my gaming blog on another website and another from whom I’ve abandoned and shall not return.  For those who are new to the site.  Welcome!  This is the post that started it all!

I have to say that Halo 3 is a great game. The game is a step up from Halo 2 and will keep people busy for years with great multi-player and customization. I’m sure there will be countless add-ons to come for several years.

One of the cool surprises is theater mode where you can take pictures of yourself from any angle in the campaign and video clips playing multi-player. I find it very satisfying watching me defeat the covenant from different camera angles in the campaign. Its like watching a small war movie! I also save the pictures on the internet to view later and post my multiplayer clips on xbox live for others to view my grenade throwing techniques.

Again, one of the great things about theater mode is that you get to go back and view different parts of the battlefield. You can disect what happened and evaluate your own gameplay and improve. You can see what happened to your fellow Marines and observe things you didn’t notice before.

Another great thing about the theater mode is you can review the cinematic “in-game” sequences. Some of which are awesome! I love the multiple Scarabe battles and the scene where the Pillar of Autumn dives into the atmosphere and lands to get you much needed backup as seen in this sequence.

Dive in…land…and unload.  Is that ship rated for atmosphere?

Another cool thing about Halo 3 is the forge. Forge mode allows you to create your own multiplayer setups using preexisting maps. You can’t change or add to the geometry, but you can add weapons, vehicles, spawning points, etc. I haven’t messed with forge mode yet but that is something I will play with when I host my multiplayer games at home.

I had just beat the game on heroic level and loved every minute of it. I only found one skull and did’nt use a guide. Difficulty was not bad on that level, but was not totally easy either. I will begin legendary next and cannot wait to see an alternate ending. Playing at legendary makes you alot better Spartan for multiplayer. Prepare to start scoring in the mid 20′s in rumble pit after finishing the campaign in legendary. Speaking of multiplayer, easily the best part of any Halo game, I only have one gripe. The choice of colors! They stink! They aren’t tactical colors! Those of us who like war movies you know what I’m saying. Bungie needs more color choices for multiplayer! Everyone likes the steel or green body color with red or whatever. My character has changed his color four times in a week until I finally settled on something resembling my Halo 2 colors. I like my colors now, don’t get me wrong, but making up a new color scheme all together did’nt work out for me. I settled on changing just my body color to steel and my symbol to skull and cross bones. I kept my secondary colors as a tribute to Halo 2 multiplayer.
